Small Glen Lakes parcel on Tuesday agenda for Glendale council

Posted

On Friday the Glendale added two items to its Oct. 24 City Council meeting agenda regarding development of a 1.5-acre  parcel that is the only remaining sliver of city land at former Glen Lakes Golf Course.

The council will hear a resolution amending the city's general plan map for the property on the northeast corner of 55th and Northern avenues. That will be followed by a public hearing and a vote on the ordinance to rezone the parcel from A-1 (agricultural) to PAD (Planned Area Development).

Glendale Planning Manager Tabitha Perry will present the development plan, titled 'Glen Lakes.' Glendale, in this case the applicant, intends to  allow the property to develop following neighborhood commercial, general commercial and limited multifamily residential land uses.

The Glendale City Council meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Glendale Civic Center, 5750 W. Glenn Drive. Watch the meeting on YouTube at this link.

The city sold the 43-acre municipal golf course at the busy intersection of 55th and Northern avenues in 2019 to Towne Development, which is in the process of building a new 173-home community, Trevino at Glen Lakes, on the site.
