The Scottsdale Senior Softball team pitched a mound of donations to the Vista del Camino food bank after a Jan. 4 game.
“Thank you again for your significant donation of 1,023 pounds of food and $600 to the Vista del Camino food bank. We greatly appreciate it as do the many individuals in need,” said Andy Passmonick, with the city of Scottsdale Human Services division of Vista del Camino Park, thanking the donors. “Have a great 2022.”
For the past three years, the senior ball players have donated to the food bank. Les Vinik, who serves as softball commissioner, said they “collect over the period of a month,” and credited a fellow ball player, Jim Lenzo, for suggesting the charitable act.
