The remains of missing person Najib “Jubi” Monsif have been found, Scottsdale Police officials say.

Monsif’s remains were found at a canal pump station near Power Road and the Red Mountain Loop 202, Scottsdale Police Department Officer Aaron Bolin said on Dec. 14.

The Scottsdale Police Crime Labaratory forensically confirmed the remains to be Monsif, police said. There are no signs of foul play.

Monsif was reported as a missing person on Sept. 23, and an Arizona Silver Alert was issued for him. Monsif, who was 20, was on the autism spectrum and reported to have the mental capacity of a child.

After Monsif went missing from his Scottsdale home, the police partnered with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and Central Arizona Project to conduct several searches within the first days and weeks of his disappearance, officials say.

Searchers utilized tracking dogs, air units, bicycle units, mounted patrol units, patrol officers and detectives on foot to look for Jubi in the neighborhood, desert areas and the canal near his home.

No further information is available about the discovery of Monsif’s remains at this time.
