Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega has hired Adam Garrett Santiago as his new chief of staff.

According to a city media advisory, Santiago comes to Scottsdale from a similar position with the City of Glendale.

The advisory goes on to say Santiago graduated from Stony Brook University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree political science with a minor in religious studies. He then earned a certificate in global affairs at New York University and graduated from Harvard University with a Master’s degree in liberal arts with a concentration in government.

Santiago lives in Scottsdale, with his wife and daughter.
