The Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra is opening its 2025-26 Scottsdale Chamber Music Series at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2 at the Steinway Concert Hall, 14418 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite 184, Scottsdale.
Presented in an intimate setting and curated by the musicians themselves, this program highlights the artistry, collaboration, and spontaneity that make chamber music such a personal and powerful experience, according to a press release.
The concert features performances by orchestra musicians in three distinctive ensembles:
• The Apollo Trio, consisting of Denise Wilson (oboe), Heather Van Beek (basset horn), and Christine Kyhn (piano) performing Ludwig van Beethoven’s Creatures of Prometheus, Op. 43 No. 14 - solo della signora Casentini.
• The Saba Trio, featuring Josh Facello (violin), Donald Harvey (horn), and Chris Granger (piano), presenting Johannes Brahms’ Horn Trio in E-flat Major, Op. 40.
• The Wall-Berg Duo, with Robert Heiligenberg (flute) and Michelle Wall (flute), performing Felix Mendelssohn’s Scherzo from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, transcribed for two flutes.
