The Sun City Home Owners Association announced five candidates for its Board of Directors positions on Tuesday.
SCHOA is holding an election starting Oct. 30 to select three board members. Running for the positions are Robert Wheat, Greg Bradley, Emilie Baggett, John DeWeerdt and Al Morton, according to a press release.
Lisa Gray, general manager of SCHOA, said the terms for members Eric Hoagland, Al Morton and Robert Wheat are expiring.
The election ends at midnight Nov. 13, Gray said.
“Our association is searching for a few special residents who love Sun City and want the best for their community going forward,” said Gail Warmath, elections chairperson, in a release: “The candidate will share their ideas and talents to help support SCHOA’s ongoing efforts to maintain and protect the quality standards all Sun City residents expect.”
To be able to serve a three-year term, candidates must be able to attend board and committee meetings, they must be a Sun City resident and a SCHOA member in good standing, Warmath said.
“Serving on the board can be extremely rewarding, interesting and enjoyable,” she said.
SCHOA will hold an orientation for candidates to learn more about the association and board member expectations, she added. Candidates will then have the opportunity to ask questions.
The association will release the time and date of the orientation to the candidates.
