PARIS (AP) — New Orleans Saints players Cam Jordan and Alvin Kamara watched Paris Saint-Germain's thrilling Champions League win over Barcelona on Tuesday night.

The Saints will play the Pittsburgh Steelers at Stade de France — the national stadium — on Sunday in the NFL’s first regular-season game in Paris.

Jordan and Kamara were invited to Parc des Princes stadium by PSG, which is aiming for a third straight Champions League title and beat the Spanish club 4-2 with two late goals. Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal scored for Barcelona.

The Saints delegation arrived at Charles de Gaulle airport Monday morning, and in a virtual news conference addressed questions about recent civil unrest in France.

The NFL said the game was on as scheduled, along with other league events planned for this week in the city.

The Steelers planned to arrive later this week.

Rioting and widespread looting in Paris and elsewhere in France took place over the weekend during nationwide protests of rising living costs and poor conditions in schools.

Shops and buildings around the Place de la République and Bastille in Paris were heavily damaged. About 2,400 people were arrested over the weekend, and authorities said thousands of businesses were damaged or looted.

French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the behavior in a televised speech on Sunday night.

More protests could be in store this week, with high school and university student organizations calling for demonstrations Thursday and Saturday.
