Individuals experiencing homelessness or on the brink of homelessness and needing assistance with housing, shelter, benefits, identification and other basic needs in Mesa will be connected with a range of services and resources during Project Connect Aug. 16.

It will be held 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16 at the Mesa Interstake Center, 830 E. Second Ave. in Mesa.

Guests will be able to seek immediate services from professionals providing employment services, medical care, clothing, personal care items, spiritual support, family and legal services, behavioral health, substance abuse services, domestic violence resources, temporary shelter and veteran benefits, according to a release.

Volunteers from surrounding communities will be assisting guests as they connect to resources. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Organizations and agencies on hand will include: Human Services Campus, A New Leaf, ADOT-MVP, ALOCS (Another Level of Community Services), Arizona Pet Project, Arizona State University Office of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research, Beacon Group, Behavioral Health Housing Support, Brian Garcia Welcome Center, Catholic Charities MANA House Veterans Outreach, Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS), Circle the City, DES, Homeless ID Project, Intensive Treatment Systems, Mercy Care, Sanctuary Recovery Center, SLATE (Medicare health insurance), St. Joseph the Worker, St. Vincent de Paul Bike Repair, UnitedHealthcare.
