In response to Tom Slade’s letter to the editor regarding my comments about ICE:
I am all for the worst of the worst being tried in a court of law and, if appropriate, the errant parti(es) are deported.
What I question is random people being swept onto unmarked busses by unidentified ICE agents, only to disappear. What of due process of law? Where is the proof that these people are indeed guilty of crimes for which they are not even charged?
I offer no apology for speaking my truth and asking clear and cogent questions. Instead, I suggest that we all examine our consciences and contemplate/question where this dislike and distrust of all immigrants had its beginning in our minds.
After all, with the exception of Native Americans, the rest of us are all “immigrants.”
