RCSC receives international guests

Posted

The Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc., recently greeted two overseas groups looking to see the original active adult community for themselves, and to learn how they can develop similar standards of living for their retirement communities. The RCSC often attracts international groups interested in the original Sun City’s famous and successful model.

In September, the RCSC welcomed a group of 11 guests including city council members from PoCheon, South Korea, who wanted to see for themselves the quality of life that active adult communities provide. They toured multiple recreation centers to see RCSC members/cardholders enjoying the recreation – in pools, at the fitness centers and in their clubs – so they could take the information home, explore their own future solutions for their community. Their translator and tour guide, Hoon Park, of Chandler, explained “they want to learn about the history, how to operate recreation centers, and the medical facilities and options available so conveniently in the Sun City area.”

Days later, a group of two dozen guests from Australia and New Zealand also toured the Bell Center, and on their rented tour bus drove through Sun City until they stopped in excitement at the Sun Bowl they had heard so much about.

“A highlight of our visit was a trip to see Arizona’s most famous retirement communities,” said Robert MacPherson, who led the group. The group toured Bell Center and drove around additional recreation centers as they made their way as a group to the Sun Bowl, where they took a photo.

“With a staggering 27,600 homes, more than 120 clubs, eight public and three private golf courses, and eight recreation centers, Sun City is a world unto itself,” added MacPherson. “The (Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc.) model offers a great variety of amenities and lifestyle options, attracting seniors from across America and the world.”

The tour group traveled from Chicago to Sun City, and then on to Palm Springs, with a goal of mixing fun adventures with a study of “experts on senior housing, longevity, mixed use projects, customer experience, health and well being,” stating they selected only the “most progressive leaders.”

RCSC offers regular Sun City Experience presentations to prospective, new and current residents to showcase the amenities and opportunities available to RCSC members/cardholders and help connect residents to resources.
