Chandler zoning board OKs 76-unit housing plan

After testimony from residents about traffic and a few other concerns at a planned South Chandler development, the Chandler Planning and Zoning Commission recommended a pair of approvals for a 76-unit housing subdivision at its May 1 meeting.

After hearing staff and residents talk about the project in its regular meeting, the board voted to recommend to Chandler City Council allow rezoning to a planned area development and approval of its preliminary development plan for the Vivien subdivision.

The 15.5-acre site is on the southeast corner of Ocotillo and McQueen roads. The developer, K. Hovnanian Homes, is not the first group to consider building on that corner.
