RCSC playing catch-up with tech in Sun City

Embarking on 3-year plan

Like actress Sarah Holcomb’s character Clorette DePasto in the movie “Animal House,” the Recreation Centers of Sun City has a lot of catching up to do.

The corporation is woefully behind in terms of information technology to the point of facing a possible major system crash, according to RCSC IT Randy Byrd, who said he believes RCSC officials must address these myriad issues as soon as possible.

To that end, he recommended during a Jan. 27 planning meeting to spend more than $1.2 million during the next three years to bring the corporation’s technology at least to the point of avoiding a shutdown. That includes replacing hardware, software and hiring two more people for the IT staff.
