Queen Creek Olive Mill hosts Calabrian feast

The Queen Creek Olive Mill is bringing together family and tradition with a special Tavolo Dinner this month to celebrate the flavors and dishes of Italy’s Calabria region.
The five-course, family-style dinner will include recipes that incorporate the flavors of the culture and optional professional wine pairings.
The tables will be set on from 6:30-9:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19 at the Queen Creel Olive Mill, 25062 S. Meridian Road. Reservations are required and the meal costs $124.99, with an additional $39.99 for professional wine pairings.
The five-course dinner menu offers:
Antipasti
Zuppa Di Aspargi -- Traditional Calabrian asparagus soup with garlic, Pecorino Romano, and crunchy bread with herbs, finished with a drizzle of QCOM 3 Chile Olive Oil.
Primi
Gemelli ‘Nduja -- Fresh Gemelli pasta tossed in a 'Nduja-Calabrian Chili Tomato Sauce with hints of garlic and rosemary, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Grana Padano, finished with a drizzle of QCOM Meyer Lemon Olive Oil.
Secondi
Pesce Spada Alla Ghiotta -- Swordfish steaks, slow poached in QCOM Delicate Extra Virgin Olive Oil, with Tropea onion jelly, Calabrian chili-infused anchovies, and Piccoliva-stuffed olives.
Contorni
Melanzene Ripiene -- Roasted eggplant stuffed with breadcrumbs, Pecorino Romano and Calabrian Chili, finished with a drizzle of Kaboom Balsamic Barbecue Glaze.
Roasted Tomatoes in Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Fresh Herbs -- Fresh tomatoes and dried Calabrian tomatoes, roasted in QCOM Balanced Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Fresh Herbs. Served with swordfish steaks.

Insalata (“A Celebration of Calabrian Produce”) -- A salad of roasted grapes, figs, blanched almonds, pomegranate seeds from St. Paisius Monastery, and local greens, tossed lightly in a Calabrian Chili Vinaigrette made with our QCOM Balanced Extra Virgin Olive Oil, White Balsamic Vinegar from Modena and Vulcan Calabrian Chilis.
Dolce
Cuddruriaddri -- Calabrian crispy doughnuts served with a Calabrian chili-infused dark chocolate olive oil ganache.
