Queen Creek church building permanent home

Christ’s Church of the Valley has broken ground on its new, permanent home in Queen Creek.
The CCV campus will be located on the southeast corner of Ellsworth and Chandler Heights roads. The 16-acre campus is expected to be completed by spring of 2024.
Joining CCV leaders and more than 200 congregants at the Thursday, May 24 groundbreaking ceremony were Queen Creek Unified School District Superintendent Perry Berry and Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary School Principal Sherry Towns.
Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary, at 22801 Via Del Jardin, has been the temporary home for weekend CCV services since March 2021, when the church announced it was expanding into Queen Creek. CCV has 11 campuses across the Valley. In the year since the church expanded into Queen Creek the congregation has grown to 500 people.
For more than two years, a team of CCV volunteers has been transporting church equipment to the school on a Saturday. Around 30-40 volunteers unload the trailers, set up classrooms and construct a makeshift auditorium in the school’s gym. On Sunday after services end, volunteers tear everything back down so as not to disrupt the school week. The church will continue to hold services at the school until its new campus is completed.
“Given our growth and the dedication of our volunteers, we are excited, honored and very ready for our new, permanent home,” stated CCV Queen Creek Campus Pastor Curt McReynolds in a press release.
At its full build-out, the new campus will feature a 32,866-square-foot, single-story main building housing a coffee bar, daycare center, green room for guest speakers, and multiple classrooms and restrooms. The centralized worship room, which will seat 1,060 people, will have a platform-style stage for speakers and performers, as well as a sound booth and lighting system.
There will be nearly 13,000 square feet of outdoor seating under solar canopies, walkable courtyards with stone pavers, grass turf, space to play and a 719-square-foot outdoor kitchen.
“Community is at the core of who we are. That’s why we prioritize practical outdoor spaces where relationships can be formed over food, coffee and yard game fun,” CCV Executive Pastor Tony Burgarello stated in the release.
The campus will also have more than 2.8 acres of athletic fields and courts for CCV’s youth recreation program, which offers soccer, football, basketball and baseball.
