Public invited for Gilbert electric fire truck 'push-in' ceremony

The Gilbert Fire & Rescue Department is unveiling its new Pierce Volterra Electric Fire Truck on Friday, Oct. 27, during a community push-in ceremony at Gilbert Fire Station No. 2.The push-in ceremony begins at 4 p.m. A push-in ceremony is a traditional event in the fire service industry that marks the start of an engine’s service to its community.

The push-in ceremony is open to the public.

Gilbert Fire & Rescue is the first department in the state and one of only a handful in the country to deploy an electric-powered fire engine designed to improve health and safety for crews and community.
