Phyllis died Saturday, August 24, 2019 in Sun City West, AZ, at the age of 77, after a very brief unknown illness. She passed peacefully with her family at her side. Phyllis was born and raised in Chicago, IL, to William and Marie Reichert and moved to Arizona in 1963.

She married her husband Mark on March 3, 1972 and together they raised two daughters, Sarah and Bethany.

Phyllis had a passion for learning, earning her Bachelor’s degree from ASU and worked for years as a Speech and Language Pathologist. She then went on to earn a Master’s in Education from NAU, and taught elementary school in the Flagstaff school system, with a focus in Special Education. She later transitioned to school counseling, earning a Master’s in Counseling. She finished her career earning numerous Child and Family Counseling certifications and was an extremely successful counselor in both Flagstaff and Phoenix. Phyllis touched many lives and helped many people with her work.

Phyllis loved visiting with friends, playing bridge, crocheting and crewel work, watching mysteries, and spending time with family. She loved animals of all kinds (except snakes) and had a soft spot for all dogs, including her beloved rescue dog, Molly.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Mark; daughter, Sarah Bristol; daughter, Bethany and husband, Grant Holden; son-in-law, Jeff Bristol; grandchildren: Emily, Maicy, Elle and Gray; sister, Sheryl (Ralph) Hoffman; and brother-in-law, Curtis Mettlin.

Per her request, there will be no services, however donations may be made under name to the charity of your choice.
