Phoenix plans new fire station in Laveen

A new fire station is coming to 67th Avenue and Baseline Road in Phoenix.

The Phoenix City Council last week unanimously authorized the city manager to purchase a 9.2-acre property in the southwest corner of the city for the future Fire Station 73. The city did not disclose how much it plans to pay for the property.

Mayor Kate Gallego said the city received several letters, all in support of the new station.
