Phoenix Children's Hospital ‘Dine with Your Dog’ event raises $140K

Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s annual Dine With Your Dog event held in Scottsdale raised $140,000.

The 14th annual event, held at Monterra at WestWorld, featured a dog-friendly gourmet meal, a brunch spread for their human companions, mimosas and a bloody Mary bar. All funds were destined to help PCH’s Animal-Assisted Therapy group.

“Dogs have the special ability to make people smile wherever they go,” said Steve Schnall, senior vice president and chief development officer at Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation, in a press release. “Our four-legged buddies help to soothe and relax even our littlest patients. We cannot thank the attendees and sponsors of this event enough for their contribution to the healing and happiness these dogs spread throughout our hospital.”

Attendees had the opportunity to explore pet play areas, stroll in front of the “pup-arazzi,” chat up fellow dog owners and bid at the silent auction.

NBC Arizona Midday host Destry Jetton emceed the program along with 2022 event Co-chairs Kimberly Jacobsen and Lee Courtney. The Animal-Assisted Therapy team spoke about the program and its impact on young patients.

Dine With Your Dog presented by Rowley Family foundation was sponsored by PetSmart and Embry Health.
