Amber Williamson has been named Phoenix’s interim deputy city manager.
Williamson has 25 years of service with the city, beginning her career in 2000 as an administrative assistant in the retirement office. She most recently served as director of the budget and research department, a role she had since August 2020, according to a release.
“Amber’s deep institutional knowledge, collaborative leadership style and proven track record in fiscal management make her the right choice to help guide our organization forward,” City Manager Jeff Barton said.

Amber Williamson has been named Phoenix’s interim deputy city manager.
Williamson has 25 years of service with the city, beginning her career in 2000 as an administrative assistant in the retirement office. She most recently served as director of the budget and research department, a role she had since August 2020, according to a release.

Williamson said: “Phoenix is a place I care deeply about, and I look forward to working with our dedicated teams to build a stronger future for our community.”
Recruitment for her replacement as director of budget and research will begin later this year, officials said.
