Phoenix exhibit explores nature through watercolor, clay, acrylic

Kimberly Harris, Annie Waters featured in November show at Olney Gallery

Artists Kimberly Harris and Annie Waters will present “Observations — two artists’ journeys through nature” Nov. 2-25 at Olney Gallery at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Phoenix. A First Friday artist reception is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 6.

Harris will exhibit watercolor landscapes inspired by the Colorado Plateau along with botanical interpretations in clay. A former architect of more than four decades, Harris has participated in artist residencies in locations including Zion National Park, Greece, Rome, France and Iceland.

Waters’ abstract acrylic paintings focus on decaying and overlooked plant forms, including stems, buds, flowers and seeds. Waters earned a BFA in painting and drawing from Auburn University and an MFA from Arizona State University.
