Peoria Council approves fiscal year 2022 tentative budget

10-year Capital Improvement Program also approved

Peoria City Council approved the  fiscal year 2022 tentative budget at $695 million, a 4.5% increase from the fiscal year 2021 budget.

City officials say the budget maintains core citizen services with small, but necessary, adjustments to utility rates and without any increases to taxes.

State law requires municipalities adopt a tentative budget before adopting a final budget. The tentative budget sets the maximum appropriation for the coming year, meaning that once adopted it cannot exceed that amount.
