‘Optimistic’ budget proposed for fiscal year 2022

The City of Peoria has released its proposed fiscal year 2022 budget at $695 million, a 4.5% increase from the fiscal year 2021 budget.

City officials say the proposed budget maintains core citizen services with small, but necessary, adjustments to utility rates and without any increases to taxes.

It includes 13 new full-time positions across seven city departments.
