Patricia Louise “Patti” Cavanagh

Patricia Louise “Patti” Cavanagh (Kruk), age 78, passed away on March 31, 2025, in Sun City West, Arizona.
Born on November 9, 1946, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, Patti was the daughter of Josephine and Henry Kruk. She pursued a career in nursing and graduated from Saint Luke’s Hospital Nursing School as a Registered Nurse. Throughout her career, she served with dedication and compassion in both the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit, offering care and comfort to countless patients during their most critical moments.
Patti shared a loving marriage with her husband, Thomas. Together they raised three sons: Jason (Melissa), Jeremy, and Jeffry (Jennifer). Her family grew to include seven cherished grandchildren — Colin, Cayla, Seth, Mitchell, Aristen, Shaw, and Jensen—each of whom brought immense joy to her life. She also remained close with numerous cousins who were an important part of her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her brother Henry; and her parents-in-law, Leona and John.
After retiring to Sun City West, Patti embraced a lifestyle filled with hobbies that brought her happiness and connection. She had a deep love for gardening and golf—two passions that allowed her to enjoy the beauty of nature and the camaraderie of friends. A creative spirit at heart, she was an enthusiastic member of both the Clay Club and Knitting Club. Patti also found joy in playing mahjong every Monday and Friday with friends in the Sun City West community.
Patti lived a life grounded in Catholic faith, kindness and community. She will be remembered not only for her professional dedication as a nurse but also for the warmth and energy she brought into every room. Conversations with Patti often ended in laughter so deep it brought tears—a testament to the joy she spread among those fortunate enough to know her.
May her memory bring comfort to all who loved her.
