BLUE EARTH - Memorial services for Patricia L. Amundson will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2011, at St. Luke's Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. Innichement will take place in Sun City West, at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at St. Luke's. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family with the arrangements. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com. Patricia L. Amundson passed away peacefully on Feb. 1, 2012, in Blue Earth, Minn. Prior to living in Blue Earth, she had lived in Staples, Minn., Brainerd, Minn., Watertown, S.D., and Sun City West, Ariz. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Grant, whom she married on Christmas Day 1945 after his return from active duty in the Army Air Corps in Europe. Pat was born on April 7, 1922, to Frank and Esther McGivern. She was a graduate of Staples High School and Hamline University in St. Paul. Pat taught in Motley, Minn., and Watertown, S.D., and was an active church and big band musician everywhere she lived, both as a pianist and vocalist. She was active in PEO and was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. Pat was preceded in death by her parents and husband as well as by sisters Marion Stone of Staples, Minn., and Betty Anfinson of Edina, Minn. She is survived by her children Kristen Amundson of Alexandria, Va., Steven Amundson (Anna) of San Diego, Calif., and Susan Ellingsen (Mike) of Blue Earth, Minn.; four grandchildren, Sara Conrath of Bethesda, MD, Andrew (Eric) Elingsen of Decorah, Iowa, Katherine Ellingsen of Minneapolis, Grant Amundson of San Diego, Calif., and many friends and relatives.
