PHOENIX — The Republican and Democrat running for state treasurer are dredging up their opponent’s past legal troubles in attempts to convince voters not to trust the other with $32 billion in state assets.
On the campaign trail and on the debate stage, Democrat Nick Mansour and Republican Elijah Norton leaned on lawsuits and opposition websites to undercut the other’s credibility.
Mansour lays out more than 100 lawsuits filed against Veritas Global Protection Services, an international company that offers vehicle protection plans owned and operated by Norton, and its affiliated insurers over issues such as denied claims and robocalls.
