Brenda Hatch, owner of Balloon Happy AZ in Mesa, will soon be joining 75 balloon artists from around the world at the Big Balloon Build in Greely, Colorado, to benefit Life Stories Child & Family Advocacy.

Teams of balloon artists will take over a community college and build a larger-than-life, space-themed exhibit out of 125,000 biodegradable balloons in four days before opening it to the public to walk through and enjoy, according to a release.

All proceeds from the July 17-20 event benefit Life Stories Child & Family Advocacy, which gives a voice to children who have been abused or neglected.

“We know that this is a tough subject to talk about, but nonetheless it needs to be brought up,” said Stuart Davies, director of the Big Balloon Build. “Brenda is going to be part of something so big, something so different, something so exciting; all in support of ‘Life Stories’ demonstrating how the joy of balloons can also make a difference to the lives of so many.”

Hatch is donating her time and talents as a balloon artist. She started Balloon Happy AZ in 2012.

Balloon Happy AZ designs and provides unique balloon décor for both corporate and private events.

Hatch was selected from thousands of applicants to participate in the Big Balloon Build Colorado, the release states.

“To say that I’m excited is an understatement. I’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most amazing balloon artists from around the world in creating a jaw-dropping, spectacular, visual experience...all while bringing joy to the community and benefiting an amazing child -advocacy program like Life Stories. How cool is that?”

This is only the fourth time the Big Balloon Build has been held in the U.S.
