Officials say recent shootings near Downtown Tempe unrelated

Posted

Authorities say that the two shooting incidents that took place near Downtown Tempe on Oct. 15 and Oct. 16 are unrelated despite their proximity.

Tempe Police Department is investigating two separate shootings that took place recently — one near 7th Street and South Forest Avenue and another at Tempe Town Lake. Police are in search of the suspects in both cases.

“Currently, we are not implementing any additional safety precautions as these are two isolated incidents,” Tempe PD stated in an email.

Police added that there is no current threat to the community relating to the incidents.
