Man shot Sunday morning at Tempe Town Lake, suspect drives away

A man was shot early Sunday morning on the northside of Tempe Town Lake near Lakeview Drive, police said.

Officers and Tempe Fire Medical and Rescue responded to the call at about 4:30 a.m. Oct. 15, and the victim was taken to a hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation shows that the victim was walking in the parking lot with his friend when an unidentified suspect approached him. The suspect left in a vehicle, police said.

An investigation into what police said was an isolated incident are continuing.
