While the Mercury await a decision on whether star guard Diana Taurasi will return to play past age 40 in 2022, they have other pending free agent matters that will require some careful planning if the team wants to return to the Finals.

The team’s other core stars, Brittney Griner, Skylar Diggins-Smith and Brianna Turner, are all under contract for next season, but with three key role players hitting free agency this offseason — guards Sophie Cunningham, Kia Nurse and Shey Peddy — the team will have some work to do to bring back its players to take another shot at a Finals appearance.
