Just like the Suns, the Mercury fell two wins short of a championship in 2021. And just like the Suns, the team is looking to run it back with mostly the same roster next year to get over the hump to bring the Finals trophy to the Valley.
“Next year it’s definitely, it’s Finals or bust mindset. And I think that’s the mood around all of Phoenix basketball right now,” said Mercury guard Skylar Diggins-Smith.
Also mirroring the Suns situation at the start of its offseason, the Mercury is poised to bring back the core of its runner-up team. Also in question is whether its star guard will return.
