A new day care and preschool center is planned near the Lake Pleasant Parkway and the Avenida Del Sol alignment in north Peoria.
The Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission recently approved a rezoning case that will allow for Little Sunshine’s Playhouse & Preschool on about 2 acres in north Peoria.
Specifically, the land was rezoned from suburban ranch 43 to convenience commercial.
The land consists of two parcels and is currently undeveloped along Lake Pleasant Parkway.
The facility will include a 10,500-square-foot building and an adjacent 5,150-square-foot turf playground. The business will serve students between 6 weeks and 6 years of age, and business hours will be 6:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
The site is largely surrounded by single-family homes including the communites of Avenida Del Sol and Camino De Oro.
Development standards include, but are not limited to, 20-foot landscape buffers between the site and adjacent residential developments, and a maximum building height of 30 feet.
Access to the business will be limited to one driveway onto Lake Pleasant Parkway and no public access provided to Avenida del Sol.
Little Sunshine’s Playhouse & Preschool has locations in 11 states. This will be the fourth location in Arizona.
