National Public Health Week: Supporting health equity, well-being
The past two years have shown us that public health is critical. That’s one reason why we at the Arizona Department of Health Services are excited to mark National Public Health Week and to have Gov. Doug Ducey commemorate this week by proclamation.
Public health is more than a single topic; it’s countless issues and practices that help every American live healthy, long and productive lives.

This year, we invite you to join us in the American Public Health Association’s celebration: Public Health is Where You Are. COVID-19 has shown us it’s now more important than ever to come together and support well-being and health equity in our communities.
There are countless ways to become part of the movement for public health: Celebrate and reinforce gratitude for public health. Look for ways to strengthen our communities, locally and globally. Help identify and dismantle health inequities, so health and wellness are not just available but accessible for all. Advocate for health issues that are important to you.
Learn more about the celebration’s daily themes, and please RSVP for the American Public Health Association’s April 6 Twitter chat. It’s the largest public health conversation of the year and a great place to hear from public health leaders and let your voice be heard.
You can also check out this toolkit for other ways you can keep the momentum going in your community.
