Myrlene Ann Shoup-Hugo (92) passed away in Sun City, Arizona on January 13, 2022 surrounded by her three sons. She was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on July 16, 1929. Her childhood was a happy one with frequent weekend visits to her paternal grandparents' farm and her maternal grandparents' home in Wichita, Kansas. There was also school, church, campfire girls, and playing with her younger sister and brother. After moving to Springfield, Ohio at age 15, she met her future husband and the father of her children. Myrlene worked at several different jobs, but primarily as an elementary school secretary. In 1975, she moved to Phoenix to be near her aging parents. In 2005 she moved to El Dorado of Sun City. There she happily lived out her days in well-deserved comfort while staying active in church, travel, reading, volunteering, condo life, and hosting visitors. A committed Christian since age nine, she passed her faith on to her family who looks forward to seeing her again one day. All who knew her would say she was beautiful, kind, thoughtful, fun, classy, faithful, positive, devoted, generous, capable, strong, humble, compassionate, and joyful, had a great sense of humor and saw the best in all people. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 22 at: Lakeview United Methodist Church 10298 West Thunderbird Blvd Sun City, AZ 85351 9:00 AM - Visitation 10:30 AM - Celebration Service (Reception to follow)
