MCSO seizes drugs at 2 sites near Guadalupe elementary school

A series of investigations that began in July have led to the seizure of drugs and weapons in Guadalupe, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office officials said Monday.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office HIDTA Enforcement Action Team began the investigations last summer into two Guadalupe homes where there were reports of people engaged in the trafficking and sales of illegal narcotics, MCSO stated in a release.

“These locations were determined, during the investigation, to have a loose association with one another in that they were sharing a customer base that made regular purchases from both locations interchangeably,” the release stated.

The locations were at East Calle Magdalena and South Calle Batoua/South Calle Vauo Nawi, officials said.

Detectives developed enough probable cause to obtain a search warrant for both locations, according to authorities, and the MCSO Tactical Operations Unit executed the warrants that netted methamphetamine, fentanyl pills, heroin, marijuana, a rifle and a pistol.

Six arrest warrants were cleared, according to MCSO.

“The totals of seizures come secondary to the impact this has on the Town of Guadalupe as both locations are in the immediate proximity of Frank Elementary School,” the release stated.
