Mary Ann Leasure

Posted
Sun City West - Mary Ann loved being a mother and especially a grandmother and would quickly tell you that she couldn't find the words to describe the joy of having wonderful grandchildren in her life- she participated in as many of their life events as possible and couldn't have been prouder of them. She loved her family very much and ended every conversation by saying that she "loved them all to pieces". For those who knew Mary Ann, she always made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. She never met a stranger and was always able to make you feel like a long lost friend. Her positive spirit, strength, wisdom and grace until the very end of her life are an inspiration to all. She was the center around which her family revolved. She found great joy in being surrounded by her family in celebration and went to great legnths to being everyone together. She went to even greater lengths to support her friends and family through difficult times, especially with her community in Sun City West. She will be tremendously missed. Mary Ann was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church since arriving in Sun City West in 2003. She was a lifetime member in the Alzheimer's Association. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary Ann's honor to the Alzheimer's Association. A special thank you to the ICU Staff at Banner-Del E. Webb Medical Center and the entire staff of Banner Hospice who made her last days as comfortable as possible. Mary Ann and family are especially grateful for the support of Joe Raynak, a family practice doctor in Phoenix and her son Bill's brother-in-law. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Bill Leasure, of Sun City West; her son Bill Leasure, of Austin, Texas; daughter-in-law, Mary-Beth Leasure, of Austin, Texas; son, Paul Leasure, of Cave Creek; daughter-in-law, Sue Johnson, of Cave Creek; daughters, Mary Leasure, of Sun City West, and Caroline Leasure, of Surprise; and grandsons, Michael Leasure, of Omak, Wash., and Nick Leasure, of Austin, Texas; and granddaughter Rachel Leasure, of Dana Point, Calif.; as well as numerous "cousins" in Missouri. She loved you all. She acknowledged many friends in the Sun Cities area who provided love, encouragement and support during her years there.
