It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marnie Decker Wright, age 56, of Fountain Hills, AZ, on January 24, 2025, daughter of Bud and Elaine Decker. Marnie graduated from Payson High School and earned an Associate’s Degree from Scottsdale Community College.
She dedicated 18 years to the Tempe High School District and became a proud Tempe High School “Buffalo” in 2013 as the Administrative Assistant of Activities. Marnie found joy in physical activities such as rock climbing, hiking, triathlons, and road races. She was a lifelong animal lover, rescuing five dogs and always ready to care for many more. Above all, Marnie was an avid cheerleader for her beloved son, proudly sharing his accomplishments. San Diego held a special place in her heart, where she created cherished memories with her husband and son.
Marnie is survived by her husband Dennis and son Colby Wright, sisters Linda Decker, Patricia Murphy, and Molly Murphy, brother George Murphy, nephew Casey, and nieces Meggan, Marie, Melanie, and Maureen Murphy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elaine and Bud Decker of Fountain Hills.
A celebration of Marnie’s life will be held on March 29, 2025, at 2 PM at the Fountain Hills Kiwanis, 16957 East Kiwanis Dr, Fountain Hills, AZ.
