Marjorie June Byrd

SUN CITY WEST - Marjorie June (Mades) Byrd passed peacefully away Friday, Jan. 8, 2016. Marjorie was born Jun. 21, 1920 in Oklahoma City, Okla. She moved from Edina, Minn. to Sun City West with her husband, Forrest O. Byrd in 1980. She was the last of six children, preceeded in death by her husband, Forrest Byrd; and sisters, Josephine, Blanche and Beatrice; and brothers, Louis and Lloyd. Marjorie worked in the wholesale clothing business representing several childrens manufactures, selling to the stores in the upper midwest. She loved her work and her customers. She was an active member at Briarwood Country Club, and was a very avid golfer, bridge player, and loved to dance. Marjorie is survived by her sons, Forrest O. Byrd, Jr. (Paula) of Medford, Oreg. and Stephen L. Byrd (Pamela) of Sun City West; grandchildren, Weston Byrd and Marcie Vinson (Eric); great-grandson, Sawyer Vinson; step-grandchildren, Cynthia Rollins and Cory Hechter; and step-great-grandson, Coleman Rollins. Marge lived a long, fruitful life, and was very happy with her adopted Arizona home. No services will be held. Burial will be in Edmond, Okla. at a future date.
