After reading this article (“Firefighters need help, too,” Sun City Independent,” March 29, 2023), I fully agree with it.
I am a retired firefighter from Cudahy, Wisconsin for 30 years now. But I was involved in many traumatic events during my 25 years of service. Some of them still come back in my memory, and are hard to forget.
We didn’t have a support group at that time, but I think it would have been very helpful. I hope this all works out for the fire department.
