Faculty members of Kiva Elementary School toured the campus rebuild in March, seeing progress made on the Paradise Valley school.

According to district documents, the project was 56% complete as of April.

Kiva Elementary School was the sixth Scottsdale Unified School District to be renovated as part of a 2016 voter-approved bond proposal.

McCarthy is leading construction on the Kiva rebuild while Orcutt-Winslow is doing architecture.

Phase one of the project includes construction of four new buildings totaling over 70,000 square feet, according to SUSD.org. Buildings consist of new classroom space for all grade levels, a new gymnasium, cafeteria and administrative spaces.

Site improvements will include two new large parking lots of pickup/drop off queuing, playgrounds and shade canopies.

Kiva Elementary School is in the Town of Paradise Valley at 6911 E. McDonald Drive. It was originally build in 1957.
