Republican lawmakers believe in allowing you to keep more of your own tax dollars, especially during a period of crippling inflation. I'm writing to inform you that this will soon become a reality.
On top of skyrocketing prices for groceries and other everyday necessities, the holidays can also bring added expenses. But, in the coming weeks, approximately 750,000 Arizonans will receive up to $750 in their bank account or mailbox.
Last legislative session, Senate and House Republicans championed the Arizona Families Tax Rebate, a historic initiative that will return a portion of the state's $2 billion surplus to families in order to provide some measure of relief.
The rebate will be paid to taxpayers with dependents who paid at least $1 of individual income tax on their 2021, 2020, or 2019 return and claimed the dependent tax credit in 2021 on their Arizona resident income tax return. The rebate is $250 per dependent under the age of 17 and $100 per dependent 17 and over as claimed on the taxpayer's 2021 return up to three dependents or $750 per taxpayer.
