Josephine Walton, July 10, 1920 - May 10, 2018.Josephine Eleanor Schmidt Walton was born July 10, 1920 to John and Josephine Schmidt in Langhorne Manor, PA. The oldest of three siblings, "Jo" attended Beaver College and graduated in 1942 with a BA in Primary Education.On July 31, 1943 Jo married Henry "Bevan" Walton. Jo and Bevan had six children; John, Mary (Betsy), Henry Bevan Jr. (Hank), Anita, Richard, and Martha. Jo was a kindergarten teacher at West Amwell School and taught primary grades at Stockton Elementary School.Jo and Bevan raised their children in Stockton, NJ where they lived for 30 years before retiring to Arizona where she lived until 2002 when she moved to Montana.Jo was very passionate about her Christian walk and taught Sunday school for all ages, was Director of the Vacation Bible School Program at Stockton Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the church choir and served as an Elder, a Deacon and held various board positions in each church she attended. She was also a soloist in the Philadelphia Symphony Chorale for many years.Jo will forever be remembered for her love for all, her warm embrace, her love for Jesus, her encouragement, her sparkle and her joy for life. She has touched the lives and hearts of so many and we will all treasure the memories.Jo is preceded in death by her parents John and Josephine Schmidt, her siblings, John Schmidt and Janice Hopkins, her husband Henry Bevan Walton, and her son Henry Bevan Walton Jr. Jo leaves behind her son John Walton (Edith), her daughter Mary Wrench, her daughter Anita (Jeff) Brown, her son Richard (Nancy) Walton, her daughter Martha (Terry) Weisenburger, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Florence Carlton Community Church, 20055 Old Hwy 93, Florence, MT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the FCCC Youth Program or Partners in Home Health Care.
