Investigation underway for Paradise Valley residential fire

Posted

A Paradise Valley home caught fire April 26, shortly closing a section of McDonald Drive as firefighters and police responded.

The fire mainly struck the west end of the home, according to Paradise Valley Police Department Community Resource Officer Jimmy Phan. The residents and pets were evacuated before police were on-scene, Phan noted.

The Phoenix Fire Department arrived and took control of the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the town’s fire marshal will conduct a follow-up investigation.

Phan says no one was injured in the fire.

At 9:31 p.m., the town’s Alert PV notification system issued a messaging stating the area of East McDonald Drive was closed from Invergordon Road to 54th Street due to a fire. Police and fire were reportedly already on the scene at that time, according to the alert.

At 10:59 p.m., the roadway was reopened, according to a follow-up Alert PV message.
