Hobbs appoints Arizona Museum of Natural History director to Arizona Commission on Arts board

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs appointed Simone Tipone Adlam, the director of the Arizona Museum of Natural History in Mesa, as a member of the Arizona Commission on the Arts Governing Commission.  He will serve a three-year term.

“Simon’s tribal heritage and depth of experience make him uniquely situated to cultivate relationships that foster the arts in Arizona,” said Mesa Mayor John Giles. “Through his work in Mesa, it has been wonderful to see his ability to bring people together, generate enthusiasm and find a common purpose among diverse groups of people. His unique blend of business acumen and passion for arts and culture make him the ideal candidate for this appointment.”

Adlam has over 25 years of experience in arts and cultures and has worked on museum projects in places such as the United Kingdom, Qatar, Germany, Cuba, the U.S. and more. 

Adlam, who has tribal heritage has also worked in the Mesa community locally, as part of the Rotary Club as well as the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community and the Gila River Indian Community in order to gain tribal input on museuem content.
