Hartke: Transgender is 'pretend'

Just because a person identifies as something other than how they were born does not mean they are who they want to be (Transgender issues under the spotlight at Peoria Unified, Peoria Independent).

Everyone is born perfect, as either male or female.

They want to pretend to be the opposite sex, it's still pretend, and that will never change.

A young mind is wasted when we cater to these fantasies. Let them grow up first before they decide to live the life of a lie.

The schools are tax payer funded, and as a taxpayer I say that teachers and administrators should let this situation remain at the home of the child and not in the schools.

Schools are to teach math, history, science and other academics. Encouraging a mental issue is not the schools' business.
