ABOUT ABILITY360
Ability360 continues a 40-plus-year tradition of empowering programs for people with all disabilities. Ability360 offers and promotes programs to empower people with disabilities to take personal responsibility so that they may achieve or continue independent lifestyles within the community. The independent living philosophy states that people with disabilities should have the same civil rights, options, and control over choices in their own lives as do people without disabilities. Visit ability360.org or call 602-256-2245.
A grant is allowing Ability360, which supports and empowers residents with disabilities, to sponsor several November and December events.
A $6,441 Health & Wellness Through Socialization & Recreation for Persons with Disabilities grant came from the Tempe Community Council and city of Tempe Human Services.
The upcoming events will help individuals with disabilities remain connected with their community while developing a new skill and learning more about taking charge of their health and wellness.
“These events are planned with empowerment in mind,” Ability360 President and CEO Christopher Rodriguez shared in a press release. “We want to encourage our community to continue developing skills and attending workshops and social activities that will help them thrive and maximize their independence.”
Events take place 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. every Thursday unless otherwise noted. No event takes place Thursday, Nov. 23, in observance of Thanksgiving Day.
