Nearly 400 community leaders and supporters helped raise more than $110,000 for Ability360, the Phoenix-based nonprofit that for 40 years has hosted empowering programs for people with all disabilities.

The money will support all programs at the Sports & Fitness Center including youth, sports teams, military and 360Outdoors. The Ability360-owned and operated Sports and Fitness Center is a 45,000-square foot facility that offers a variety of amenities to help those in need achieve their health and fitness goals including a fitness center with wheelchair accessible weight machines, an aquatic area equipped with lifts and elevators, and accessible locker rooms.

Ability360’s independent living philosophy states that people with disabilities should have the same civil rights, options, and control over choices in their own lives as do people without disabilities.

Ability360 is located at 5025 E. Washington St., Suite. 200, in Phoenix.

In partnership with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cory Hahn, assistant director, player personnel, as well as Bobby Hurley, Arizona State University head basketball coach, the community came together to raise vitally needed money to help sustain Ability360’s Sports & Fitness programs.

Hahn did a video interview on the road with the Diamondbacks during the World Series to talk about his journey after a spinal cord injury while playing for ASU baseball and how he used the Sports & Fitness Center to rehabilitate and gain strength physically and mentally.

Hurley shared his story after surviving a car accident nearly 30 years ago with Valley sports broadcaster and founder/CEO of Sports360AZ.com Brad Cesmat.

Mike McQuaid, a longtime community philanthropist who passed away in 2020 was honored. McQuaid and his business partner, Jim Whitehead, were instrumental in helping to start the 360Breakfast in 2018.

The fundraising breakfast was provided by Vincent on Camelback and Black Rifle Coffee and took place on the basketball courts. Arizona Complete Health was the presenting sponsor.

The recent breakfast fundraiser brought in more than $110,000 to support Ability360.
