Goodyear schools score big on McTeacher’s Night
Posted
Goodyear and Litchfield Park McDonald’s restaurants raised more than $10,867 for local schools during their February McTeacher’s Night Challenge.
McTeacher’s Night is an annual event where a portion of drive-thru and mobile ordering proceeds, in two hours, go to benefit local schools.
Twenty-three elementary and middle schools participated in the Southwest Valley McTeacher’s Night Challenge: Centerra Mirage, Dreaming Summit, Scott Libby, Desert Thunder, Western Sky, Westar, Las Brisas Academy, Canyon Breeze, Michael Anderson, Rancho Santa Fe, Litchfield Elementary, Eliseo Felix, American Leadership Academy West Foothills, Wildflower, Rainbow Valley, Corte Sierra, Luke, Copper Trails, Estrella Mountain, Desert Star, Mabel Padgett, Barbara B. Robey, and Lattie Coor.
Goodyear’s Copper Trails Elementary placed first in the challenge after receiving a $1,000 donation for a total of $1,712. Goodyear’s Desert Star and Desert Thunder elementary schools placed second and third after receiving $1,162 and $897, respectively.
Since 2009, the McDonald’s restaurants, owned by the Mellon family, have raised $156,378 for Southwest Valley schools.
