In response to the letter, “Resident questions Hickman defense of elections,” in the Independent on April 19, I totally agree with the writer that our elections are not fair and accurate.

Goncalves: Difficulty voting in person
Posted
By Jean Goncalves - Sun City West
In response to the letter, “Resident questions Hickman defense of elections,” in the Independent on April 19, I totally agree with the writer that our elections are not fair and accurate.
I have been voting since I was 21 years old and have never in all these years had the problem I had this past election.
I went to two different voting places in Sun City West and was not able to vote because of “tabulation problems.” I had to wait until the afternoon and go back to Palm Ridge and vote. I wonder how many people just gave up?
Katie Hobbs, as Secretary of State, was supposed to ensure that all equipment was working. She did not do her job as evidenced by the malfunction of too many machines. Some voting machines were printing out 19 inch ballots on 20 inch paper, which electronic vote readers could not read! This problem crippled 59% of in-person voting locations and many Republicans faced hours-long lines.
Clint Hickman and the rest of the Board of Supervisors refused to cooperate with any investigation of possible election fraud. The voters of Arizona deserve the protection of their sacred right to vote and we all deserve answers.
