Glendale’s COVID spread rate slows

City, however, lags behind statewide average for vaccinated adults

With COVID case totals on the rise nationally and in Maricopa County, the city of Glendale looks to be holding at a steadier rate.

In the 13 days since the Glendale Independent last measured case totals in the city’s nine most populous ZIP codes, cases have increased although the rise in numbers is a lower rate than the previous measuring period.

Between June 15 and July 23, positive cases throughout the city had increased 3.4% since the last measured total. That was significant in that Glendale’s growth rate had remained at 3% or lower since measurement periods that began Feb. 24. So the tick above 3% indicated a potential new surge in positive cases.
