Glendale services, from libraries to pools, announce July 4 schedule
City of Glendale offices will be closed Monday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Offices will reopen Tuesday, July 5.
All residential garbage, recycling and bulk trash collection services will take place as usual on all regularly scheduled collection days throughout the holiday week. The Glendale Municipal Landfill and the Solid Waste customer service office will be closed July 4.

Only GUS Bus One will run on July 4, operating on the Sunday schedule, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. No same-day Dial-a-Ride service will be available on July 4. ADA service will be available and based on a holiday fixed-route schedule. Dial-A-Ride reservations for the Independence Day weekend must be made by noon, Friday, July 1.
Valley Metro bus and rail will operate on Sunday schedules on July 3 and 4. There will be no Express or RAPID service on Monday, July 4 and Valley Metro Customer Service will be closed. Visit valleymetro.org/online-tools to plan your next trip or contact Customer Service at 602-253-5000.
The Glendale Municipal Airport will remain open during the holiday. However, the airport’s administrative offices will be closed.
Glendale Public Libraries will be closed on July 4, along with the Visit Glendale offices. All Glendale Library Branches will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 5.
The splash pads at Heroes Regional Park and O’Neil Park will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Foothills Aquatics Center opens for the season on July 5. The Aquatics Center at Rose Lane is now closed for the season.
The Glendale Community Center and Glendale Adult Center will be closed on July 4 and will reopen Tuesday, July 5. The Westgate Entertainment District will host a Fireworks show on Sunday, July 3. This free family event will take place from 5 to 9 p.m.
